T&T: Liability only coverage

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased "Tortuga" a wood Cheoy Lee troller (actually a
motorsailor, but I'm not using the mast). Since I have been unable to recall
how to search the archives, and I know this topic has been discussed in the
past, I would appreciate some input as to what companies would offer liability
only insurance.

I have just had a condition and valuation survery done for a particular ins.
co. and the only outstanding area needing attention in his opinion is rewiring
the boat. This would in all probability cost about half as much as I paid for
the boat. My intention was to clean up the system, rewire the simple ac
system but not the entire vessel.

This gets me back to my request. I was originally looking for liability only,
but was unable to locate a company to provide same. The company willing to
write ins. for me insists on hull insurance (we're talking 6K) along with
liability, etc and a total rewire of the boat.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
