T&T: Magma stabilizer

There was a thread here awhile back about stabilizers for anchoring but I
didn't pay much attention to it at the time. We're temporarily tied up on the
west wall in Bear Point Marina, Orange Beach, AL. This is outside and about
100 yards from the ICW. Plenty boat traffic and upon seeing the no wake sign,
they slow to half speed and throw out some large wakes. We pitch and roll.
Last week re ordered a Magma stabilizer with the outrigger kit and yesterday I
temporarily installed it. Seems to work well and damp the rolls considerably.
Since we're tied up to a wall, I only ordered one as a trial but I think I'll
get one for the other side. I would suggest a longer outrigger, something like
a spinnaker pole, to make the stabilizer more effective.
Check the price in WM. I paid $180 for the stabilizer and $160 for the
outrigger at Blue Water Ship's Store in Foley, AL. No connection with the
company.
