On Ancora we use that clever stainless plate with the slots for the chain. You must maintain tension on the plate or it will fall off. We also use a length of nylon line and one of those rubber mooring thingies with three wraps of line around it. Works for me. Ralph Salerno M/V Ancora San Diego
