T&T: Marine Air A/C Water Pump

The spec sheet that Elliott found states:.

"These centrifugal pumps are not self-priming. They
must be installed below the liquid level so that the liquid flows
to the pump by gravity (flooded suction)."

The impeller does not rub against the housing like a engine raw water pump 
and is less likely to fail. In order for this pump to work it has to be 
mounted below the water line. If there is place for air to enter it will 
cause to pump to fail to pump. I would pay a lot of attention to the 
section of plumbing between the thru-hull and the inlet to the pump. I have 
replaced a similar pump only to find out that the strainer lid was letting 
air enter the system. This is really critical with these pumps.
