T&T: Foamy water

Bob,

I had a similar issue last season that appears to be due to residual
antifreeze in the lines.

This spring to full flush my system I hooked up a fresh water hose directly
to my water pump (instead of using the on board water tank) and then ran
each faucet/outlet individually with both hot and cold open until no foam
then a minute or so longer. I went around and did each 2-3 times round
robin..

Note - since the antifreeze goes everywhere in you lines I had to ensure
that I covered all items such as stern shower/wash off and my windshield
washer which on our boat is also off of the fresh water system.

I also did this flush with a hot water tank bypass in place which I install
in the fall before winterizing my system to keep antifreeze out of the hot
water tank which I just drain.

I then flush the main water tank separately and let it drain into the bilge
and let the bilge pump take care of it since it is designed to handled a
volume of water and is also a good test of the system (float switch etc).

Hope this helps...

Pete
