I think that it was Bob Austin who suggested adding JB Weld to the joint and 
then peening the rivets - perhaps adding strength to the link. Washington 
Chain the the PNW is one source for Crosby. It might be worth asking if HT 
chain libks are available, thus insuring greater strength. Regular links are 
not as strong as comparable chain as John points out.
