I do have longer lines available if needed (and a 50 ft. bouyant
heaving line, as required by Canadian rules). I just mentioned the
lines I normally use for tying up.
I think my main point was that it is up to each boater to determine
what length (and diameter) lines are appropriate for his particular
needs.
