We've had a pair of Dahon Mariner folding bikes for almost 10 years. Haven't
had a rust problem but we keep them in the Dahon bag and store them inside
the cabin when not on the boat. Also carry them with us in our RV on two-month
trips to Key West where they stay outside in the rain, salt air, etc.; no
rusting. I did have one of the bolts in the handlebar post begin to come loose
resulting in shaky handling. I didn't have a tool that would tighten it and
had bike shop tighten it... $10. While they were pricey, they have been good
bikes.
