T&T: New Autopilot for 1990 Marine Trader 36 sundeck

Bob- I just installed a new Raymarine system - cost about $1200 for the
complete system with only one sending station, not difficult to install but
takes time. If the rest of your system works, you might be better off simply
replacing the pump - probably $500?

  Need to replace original Simrad AP (doesn't work and smoke comes out of
pump
  until it blows fuse.)
  1. Brands, models to look at?
  2. Current AP has 2 sending stations, junction box, fluxgate compass and
pump
  .  Do all components get replaced?
  3.  Is it a DIY job or??
