I installed a Xantrex 1000 watt Pro Series inverter to power a single
outlet in the galley to run a Cuisinart dual travel mug coffee maker and
it was a pretty simple install. Took me a couple of hours and all I had
to add was a bit of wiring and a fuse.

You can run AC power to the inverter and when AC power is available it
will power the galley outlet with AC power (automatically switches),
otherwise, it's powered by the inverter. They also make an 1800 watt
version if you need more power. I'm sure other manufactures make
similar products.

Ws trying to eliminate inverter and generator run
time, seems a lot of fuss to install an inverter
(correctly) just to make tea or coffee underway.

Usually have to upgrade the alternator, transfer
switch installation, wiring etc etc. just too much
crap, will run the genny instead.

Thanks for the responses.
