Yes, that IS what reverse osmosis does I think we all know the theory...the effectiveness for boaters is what is in question with this unit. Much higher pressures are required to desalinate as opposed to separation of other solvents from solutes.
So to be more precise in my question...does THIS unit have enough pressure to effectively desalinate seawater?
Some have provided partial answers to the question already.
