I have no direct experience with that particular pump but unless you get lots
of negative feedback here or already know of a design flaw(s) I'd simply
change the impeller perhaps every 300 to 500 hours...or maybe three or four
year intervals....and the faceplate when it shows wear. And check the cam as
they sometimes deterioriate. Use zincs as provided for by the manufacturer.
Some pumps have a wear plate on the inside of the impeller as well.

Raw water pumps rarely fail catastrophically, usually they begin to wear out
slowly...impeller.. faceplace... cm.. bearing ...drip...drip..or a gradual
loss of cooling capacity.

If it would make you feel more comfortable, buy a complete pump as back up, or
just a rebuild kit and carry that aboard to facilitate a repair by yourself or
a pro.

I have a pair of DD aboard, and when I found a complete and rebuilt raw water
pump on EBAY motors at about the cost I would have to pay for just a kit at
retail, I snapped it up and carry it aboard. I have spare gaskets so I can
likely make the change out in about an hour.
