Then again Rob, we met in Noank (I believe) because I was just hanging out
on the dock and ran across you (me-sans dog). We met again in Castine in a
similar way.
Truth be told, I love to take my dog(s) in the dinghy and bring them to
shore. They prefer it and so do I. We go cruising to explore and not just
sit on the boat in harbors.
The difference is that I'd rather have the option, on my terms, of deciding
whether or not to take them to shore. If you don't have the option, you can
be setting yourself up for some potentially nasty and dangerous experiences.
I don't believe that dogs are untrainable for this rather simple task. But
if you'd rather go to shore every time, go for it. Ultimately I'm glad that
I met you and Naty because you took her off!
