T&T: Florida Insurance - Coast vs Inland

Gene,

We had our boat on the St. John's at the Ortega river for a couple of years
and the coverage (BoatUS) was no different. Their explanation was that the
river runs too close to the coast to be any real protection. I personally
differ with that assumption after talking with many people that had boats in
the marina during the storms that came through in years past. I do not know
what other insurance companies are doing in that regard but the St. John's
was not considered "inland rivers" on my coverage.
