T&T: Alternator Trouble

My alternator was over charging and also would not start charging when I  
first started the engine until it got up to about 1400 rpms.  I had it  rebuilt.  
 I started a trip up the east coast and after a week it was  boiling my 
batteries so I stopped At Thunderbolt.  They rebuilt the  alternator and installed 
new batteries and it worked fine for a  week. After that however the altern
ator has quit charging. 
 
I have had continuing trouble with the alternator over charging for about a  
year.   The alternator has been rebuilt and inspected several  times however 
nothing has ever been identified as a problem.
 
Has anyone had a similar problem or advice?  I am at Norfolk, VA at  the 
present time.
