Here are the details of my bad experience with Cockrell's Marina on the
Chesapeake Bay. I had a bad battery that need to be replace on a New American
Tug. They spoke with the factory and discussed what had to be done. I was told
on a Monday that it would take 6 hours to replace the battery and replace some
cables. American Tug was not happy but said they would pay. On Friday I
received a call from Cockrell's that they wanted 22.5 hours of labor. That was
after telling me 6 hours. Remember this was to put in a battery and make two
cables. They only received the 6 hours labor and we fought over it for two
years. They said they would take me to court and I was more then willing to go.
Over the past year or so I have talked to many boaters that have had the same
experience. From talking to many boaters it looks to me that this practice is
more the norm then not.
