Check out the units from Isotherm. Very efficient. Mine uses 4 amps,
unlike my old 120volt unit that with the inverter used 34 amps DC.

Subject: T&T: New Refrigeator
Time to get rid of the 120 volt fridge and get an "Apartment" size
12/120 volt unit for the trawler. Other than the West Marine Norcold,
are there other and better units out there?
The present one is an under counter unit and the invertor just can't
keep it going over 4 hours with the compressor running continuously once
it goes above it's set point.
The invertor is powered by four Trojan T-125 batteries. I hate running
the gen set just for the fridge with the cost of fuel.
Thanks.
