T&T: a metal hydride storage system for hydrogen

The site dos not state whether or not they have actually built a vessel that
can do what they say. It appears to me that this is just someones great
idea right now. I wouldn't think that storing hydrogen would not be any more
dangerous than storing gasoline today. I like the concept but doubt most
folks in boating would ever be able to afford it.

What is this, a science list?

No, but has anyone looked at http://independencegreenyachts.com
<http://independencegreenyachts.com/> ?

They claim to store energy (in the form of hydrogen) in a metal hydride
storage system. I'm not a scientist, but my first reaction to storing
hydrogen on a boat is an explosive no!

Is this safe? (compared to diesel, for example?)

Thanks,
