T&T: Fuel scarcity - a myth???

There was a rather more lengthy treatment of this premise a couple of
years ago in Technology Review.  I'll try to find the specific issue
reference tomorrow.  One point made therein was that mankind has
already somehow extracted and burned more crude oil than could
possibly be accounted for by all the dead animals and vegetation the
world has seen to date.   Hmmmmm....
