T&T: new old technology batteries

Had a thread about a year ago on the new Caterpillar Firefly batteries. Lead
acid technology but with a twist- the lead coats a carbon "sponge" matrix,
quadrupling energy density an quartering cost for the same price.
I followed up on it and it looks like they producing a 12 volt truck battery
as their first production model- gp 31. Supposed to be available later this
summer.

I wasn't able to deduce from the spec what the AH rating is but they look
promising. Perhaps they'll produce golf cart batteries soon.
