The key to a holding tank working like it should without odor is
ventilation, ventilation, ventilation! There is no way for it to get any
proper venting with a filter in the vent line. A vent filter is producing
the very odors your buying it to stop! I have installed several holding
tanks with good venting, and never had a problem with odors. My current
tank, installed several months ago, has 2 wide open 1 1/2" vents, (one on
either side of the boat for good cross flow air movement) and has no odor
problems. With the proper venting, there is no need to spend money on these
treatments. Just money flushed away!
