T&T: Connecting AIS Receivers Part Way Home

I was going to write that a firmware upgrade exists for the 2010c to allow
it to use AIS data, but on checking the list of upgraded features, it is DSC
support and not AIS. That said, if your 2010c is somewhat elderly, you might
want to have a look at the upgrade to see if it is worthwhile. The only
problem is that the data chip and reader to get the download from your
computer to your 2010c are quite pricy. Maybe you can borrow them. I learned
all this last weekend looking at the DSC issue for a dock buddy.
