T&T: water pump problems

Ed,
I'd start troubleshooting by disconnecting the hose from the discharge side of
the pump and turning it on. If you have water coming out then the problem is
somewhere downstream of the pump. If no water comes out, obviously the
problem is either the pump or somewhere on the supply side. If your tank is
plumbed with the water supply at the bottom of the tank, as opposed to pickup
tubes, disconnect the hose there and see if water flows out of the tank. Now
start following the path of the water, eliminating things by process of
elimination.
