T&T: 120/240 V Power vs 208 Volts

Bob.... Sure your older A/C units are rated at 120 VAC & are transparent to
whether the 120vac is derived from 120/240 vac single phase or 120/208 vac, 3
phase..Normally the problems one sees in a Marina is low voltage, due to a
multitude of reasons... age, leakage, additional load from other vessels,
etc...Most modern AC motors will handle voltage variations of + or - 10% of
the motor nameplate rating, which is normally 120vac,  so a low voltage of
say, 108 volts, short term, should not harm the motors.... Ken, Tampa
