T&T: Alternator/Charging Issues

You don't mention what main you have or the model Delco alt that your
spinning
but one thing to check is the pulley ratio driving the alt. At 1000 engine RPM
I'll bet the alt is not
spinning near maximum output. Not surprising that you get little charge into a
decent size house bank
after a couple of hours at 1000 RPM. Top engine RPM and top alt RPM must be
considered
when resizing the alt pulley. I have "fixed" two boats with low charging
issues
by an alt pulley change alone.
