T&T: Single Handing

Thanks for all the responses. 
You all have reinforced what I felt all along, that this can be done.
 
Troy's comments were exactly what I felt about Refrigeration and gas
cooking. 
 
How do you handle laundry? is the combo Washer/Dryer suitable for shorts and
tee shirts?
 
I am currently enamored with a single engine, 5 year old 38 MT that is at
the edge of my budget.
I am torn between a boat of this age which may  give me a window of limited
maintenance. 
I understand that maintenance is an ongoing process but is there an age when
major things start to happen?
 
Randy's comment about buying the smallest boat makes sense but the tough
question is how cheap should you go.
 There are tons of 50-75k boats out there but I am reluctant to get into
that area.
 
Regardless I have decided to press on and do this. 
 
Every boat I have purchased served me well. With proper research and
planning, hopefully this will go as well.
I am looking forward to becoming a member of this community, and through
this I may gain some insight to share with all of you.
