T&T: Single handed cruising?????

As an introduction I am a 5 year lurker with 2 posts and a lifetime boater.
In the past I have owned a 30 foot twin engine Sportfisher for 12 years and
currently have a 20 foot Center Console.

The things I have learned on this board make me shudder at how much I did
not know when repowering the Sportfisher with only 2 12 year old boys to
help. I have a stronger understanding of systems now and am readyto become a
live aboard boater.

To prepare for this I have lived in a 33 foot Camper while re-building my
flooded home in New Orleans and am comfortable living in a small space.

I am currently looking at available Marinas and will purchase a boat as soon
as I sell my home. My budget suggests the $125,000 range with wiggle room up
to $150,000 for the right vessel.

My thoughts are a 34 to 44 foot rangeTrawler would fit my needs. I plan to
live aboard for a year or so, and then to cruise Florida and the Tenn-Tom
with a lot of anchoring out.

I will be single handed and that brings up my question.

What does the list think of traveling alone?

Any recommended boats to look at?

Side decks and good access are important as is a full galley and a transom
door.

Sorry to ramble but I do respect the opinions on this board and would
appreciate any suggestions on any of the above. I also solicit opinions on
specific model boats as well as any that might be for sale.

Thanks in advance for any help and please feel free to respond off list at:
