If the sole of the shower stall were significanly higher than the waterline,
then I guess a sump wouldn't be necessary. I have no idea what
"significantly" means. Five feet? What about heeling?
If you had a high loop, and if I understand the concept, how would you keep
it primed so that it would act like a siphon? I just don't think this works.
Perhaps the solution you're looking for is an outside, on-deck shower.
