T&T: AIS Iconography

Thanks, Peter

I purchased the SR161 receiver and was surprised when neither an information
sheet nor a manual was included. Because of the lack of documentation, I
hadn't realized that the display is dependent on the Nav software.
Obviously, I should have looked more carefully at MaxPro's Help menu. What
I required is shown under "Targets". (Your 'wild guess' is correct.)

FYI, I also had a lot of difficulty getting it to work on Admiral MaxPro 9.3
on a new HP laptop running Vista and without a serial port. The fourth
adapter cord finally came with a driver that did the job. (I found lots of
drivers on the Internet, but only one worked with the cord from *The Source*,
and its info seemed truncated. When the manufacturer informed me that that
adapter is incompatible with Vista, I returned it, thinking that it was the
cause.

In any event, what should have been one of the more simple installations
became a challenge, but after a month - and a lot of increasingly expensive
gasoline - I now have AIS.

Cheers, Garrett
