T&T: Marina overcharges on repairs, refuses to honor estimate

Joe:

I would contact the local consumer protection office (could be county or
state) and ask for their help. In Maryland repair shop are not allowed to
charge in excess of 10 percent of a written estimate without the
authorization of the customer.

I would also ask the insurance adjuster to intervene especially if the
insurance company recommended this particular marina. They probably will
not want to get involved but I would push them. The marina may not care
about your future business but they do care about the insurance companies
future referrals.

Let us know how this works out for you.
