T&T: ActiveCaptain ROCKS!

I have a new Verizon Centro Palm-powered smartphone. I had been
procrastinating on my desire to check out fellow-listee Jeff Siegel's new
ActiveCaptain nav program for Palm devices.

This weekend I DLed the little program (ActiveCaptain Mobile, $50), bought a
2-gig card ($12), DLed all the charts (free from Jeff on his super
easy-to-use web site), pulled out my back-up bluetooth hockey pick GPS (real
cheap, but forget the price) and went exploring in the dink.

WAY TOO COOL!! I know some of you have full-sized chart plotters on the
dink, but I am more seat-of-the-pants and do not even have a depthsounder.
Consequently, I was REALLY impressed.

Great job, Mr. Siegel, with whom I have zero affiliation beyond this list, a
few contributions to the ActiveCaptain web site and a love of smart dogs.

Hope all you Americans had a great Independence Day weekend...
