If asked if you are live-aboards, the smart answer is, "No, we're on
vacation".  No matter that this particular vacation has been going on for 6
months, and will continue for another 2 years.  Be sure you know where you
are from, and don't hesitate.  It is probably where you get your mail, or
where your driver's license says you live.  Long explanations about your
cruising lifestyle will earn you no points.  Don't lie, and don't volunteer
any information not asked-for.

The term "cruisers" has many different meanings, from cruise ships to
low-slung motorcycles, and most law enforcement officers may not understand
what you mean.  Vacation everyone understands, and it's OK.  Even the cop
gets an occasional vacation.  Yor goal is to end this interview quickly and
quietly.
