The new carbon tax was applied July 1 here in BC. Locally this puts
the price of gasoline at $1.42 Prices in Vancouver are expected to
reach $1.50 per liter. Cdn and in recent weeks diesel had been
running at anywhere from 5 cents to as much as 10 cents more per
liter. I do not know what the smaller marinas up coast from
Vancouver is charging but considering they often have to barge in all
supplies; its easy to guess that they will be in the same situation as
the Bahamas. Anyone making the trip from Seattle to Alaska or vice versa
is well advised to begin with full tanks and cruise at a speed
guaranteed to do the whole trip on a tank full.
