fill the new fuel or lube oil filters with the appropriate fluid
before installing them (if the filter design and mounting location permit).

If you do this, you will have much less priming to do,....."

AND you'd have even less priming to do (as in NONE) if you simply installed
a little bitty Facet fuel electric pump with a valved bypass into your fuel
system before ANY filter.  That way, you push fuel to the filters when you
change elements AND you could run the generator or even a main engine using
it to pressurize the system when your other electric or mechanical pump
fails or if you develop an air ingestion problem.
