Mobile Wunderground's free mobile service works well on almost all
modern cell phones (that is the last two years), "smart" or not. You
can bookmark both the marine and "land" forecasts for areas of
interest. As Bob Smith mentioned, the "land" forecast is nice because
it includes a radar graphic, which most of the mid-to-better phones
will display.
For those who venture off shore on a regular basis, perhaps Mike
Maurice could refresh us on getting buoy reports sent to any phone
via text message. My personal cruising doesn't require that sort of
granularity; the NOAA forecast for off shore waters is fine for my
particular purposes.

Anchored off Watch Hill RI, not needing any technology to tell me
that it is foggy this morning, nor which way the wind is blowing!
