This topic came up in conversation with a former Uniflite engineer just
this past weekend. He suggested running a PVC tube out underneath our
anchor pulpit with a nozzle on the end that directed the spray at the
anchor chain just before it reached the bow roller. We have a
garden-hose-thread faucet mounted on our deck next to the anchor
windlass mount, so a flexible hose could be made up to connect the
faucet to the aft end of the PVC pipe. The faucet (and a similar one on
the aft deck) is fed from a 23 gpm AC salt-water pump in the engine
room.
I don't know if we'll actually do this, but it's an interesting idea.
