No engine manufacturer ever gave THAT advice. If you want to introduce
moisture into your cyliner walls and pistons to start corrosion the above is a
great way to do it. Once you start an engine get it up to a reasonable
operating temp..otherwise it's better not to start it... One approach: run one
forward and one astern to load the engine while in your berth..
And if outside in freezing weather: a few minute run, then shut down, and your
engine will FREEZE from that moisture in the combustion chambers...you won't
even be able to turn it over until it's thawed....
