In general it is NOT a good idea to connect a negative dc current carrying
wire to a grounding terminal (which normally does not carry current) except at
the single connection point between the two systems in the electrical system.
You could set up unwanted currents between grounded components which could
lead to corrosion; even AC and DC ground wires are kept entirely separated.
