Well, we (Canada) don't require SOLAS life preservers on pleasure
craft, but we do require PFDs to fit the crew - so if we can squeeze a
XXXL person on board, it must be  assumed that we can also get an XXXL PFD
on board for him.     :-)

Canada currently requires a 24" or 30" (actually 610mm or 762mm) ring
bouy on any pleasure craft over 6 metres.
