A good source for more reasonable priced vacuum gauges that replace the Racor
T-Handle is:

I have bought from them with good results.

I installed a vacuum gauge marketed by Racor, it works fine and can be
remote mounted following their guidelines. I have also seen a similar gauge
which
has a pointer which stays at the highest vacuum the gauge sees until you
reset it to zero by hand, similar to some dial thermometers, This way you
can
check it while the engine is not running and still see what the max vacuum
was.
I don't recall now the name of the manufacturer but I saw it on display at
the Stuart FL boat show last year. An online search will probably find it.
  Good luck,
