T&T: Nobeltec lack of support

Jeppesen Marine is sending this warning out to all their
registered customers, as well as posting it on their website.
It will be interesting to see if they cave on this like they did
with supporting Maptech's BSB4 format. (Which they initially
said they weren't going to support) This is especially true
since they are now trying to sell a workboat version, and the
only official charts are S-57 format from the Army Corp of Eng.

I know you can't rely on Jeppeson charts for timely updates.
When the Coast Guard finally approves electronic charting for
domestic carriage I'm suspect they won't approve unofficial
charting.

Maybe they should just learn how to program so that the official
charts display properly.

Snipped from the Jeppeson notice:

Jeppesen Marine has selected to disable S-57 importing and
display in Admiral and VNS for safety related reasons.
Unforeseeable inconsistencies in open S-57 data, regardless of
its source, and over which Jeppesen Marine has no control, could
be the source of additional rendering issues, which in turn
could determine unacceptable safety hazard.

Jeppesen Marine offers a wide range of high quality vector chart
products, and is available to assist all customers in procuring
those most suited to their navigation needs.
