T&T: AC pumps

a few years ago, i needed to replace the AC pump on my boat which feeds four
16k units.
I called Cal Pump and they told be it was ok to use a Y and connect each
pump to the Y. I figured i'd get better flow with two pumps since one 1200
gph was not enough for four units. I was skeptical about it but they
assured me that it would work..
it did... for 2 months, then i fried one of the pump. I believe that unless
the pumps start exactly at the same time and start pumping at the same rate,
one will starve the other. As much as liked the idea of having two pumps
(for reliability), i went to a larger single pump.
