T&T: AC pumps

We have a few folks on the list who have more than one pump on a single
intake and will be happy to tell you about their installation.  Of course,
the intake diameter  and hose runs must be big enough and run properly to
handle the flow required to cool both A/C units.

I had some friends with a single-pump/dual A/C unit setup, but one unit was
forever tripping off the line.  I guessed it was because of a lack of
sufficient cooling water, but it could have been another reason.  Anyway, I
opted for greater cooling water redundancy when we added another unit two
years ago, because loss of such a single seawater pump would stop any
summertime trip in our boat along the Gulf Coast.

We happily cool ourselves with two 16K BTU A/Cs with completely redundant
pumps attached to independent, dedicated intakes and outlets.  Adding the
intake is simple enough, and since you say you have the outlet issue solved,
why not add the extra intake?  Against the cost of the second unit, it's not
so much.  if that's an issue, maybe you have a head intake you could tee off
from for the second pump's supply.
