In the first place, they are Gardners. I believe they quit making engines
in the 1980's and became an engineering company. Parts are available. I
carry a spare injector pump, injectors, and plenty of Gardner filters. In
the PNW, there is access to parts in BC. Here on the East Coast, we call
Joe Duggan in Ft Lauderdale and he can get most things. There are several
companies, in the UK, Australia, Canada, who refurbish and rebuild old
Gardners. Also a plus for us, there is nothing electronic on them and at
1100 rpm, things don't break as often as on other engines. I don't know if
they produce more torque, but they are remarkable engines and if i built
another boat, I would have a Gardner in it. Regards,
