I have two FW tanks. If I use city water for a while, I refresh the
membranes every two weeks. As the appointed day approaches, I shut off the
feed to one tank and allow the other get very low. Then I turn on the RO
unit and fill the almost empty tank. Dilutes the city water to an almost
negligible chlorine content. Flush the membranes for 5 minutes with my
home-made water and let'r go for another 2 weeks. The flush system is fed by
ship's water system.
