T&T: sealing wire terminals against moisture

Last summer, during a severe thunderstorm, the dingy took on enough water to
submerged most wiring. While all is still working at this time, definite
signs of corrosion at terminal end of all wiring. To be on the safe side, I
am in the process of fully rewiring the dingy so that I do not have a failure
while on the water. At least the engine and engine control console (remote
throttle and shift, key switch and alarms) was not submerged and shows no sign
of corrosion.

What have members used to seal the terminals ends on wire that is exposed to
moisture, spray, rain, etc?

Don't plan to submerge the wire end again, I will raise all switches and
connection points in the rewiring process. But, a similar accident could
happen again. Some connection points, and the cable end that connects to the
battery must be low since that is where the battery is located.

I use a full body crimping tool for all terminals.

First step would be application of RTV silicon and heat shrink around each
terminal.

What works to put on the wire end (stub) to prevent (or at least reduce)
moisture wicking up the wire?

Thanks in advance
