T&T: security

Thought that has been running around in my mind is some king of a security
system for Cigano. I was thinking of a simple passive IR detector through a
transistor if need be-- and a relay to an old siren I have laying around. Then
I got to thinking about a simple arming/disarming device like a remote car
lock opener. Anybody seen/done anything on this order?

Any other ideas/techniques?
