T&T: HDTV antenna

After trying a couple 'special' inside HDTV antennas, I had the best luck
with a plain old pair of rabbit ears to get in most channels - as Al,
mentions, there is nothing special in the antenna for DTV; they just need to
designed for a certain frequency band and there are both UHF and VHF local
digital channels out there.

Keep in mind that not all DTV / HDTV signals are on UHF; depending on your
location you will find UHF and/or VHF space being used.

You can check out your own area here:
  http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx

It will show what is being used in your area, keep in mind that some
stations will change in Feb (ala some will move their current temp DTV
from
UHF to VHF..) So, watch for that.

And if you intend to travel, best to get a UHF / VHF antenna.

Also, this is just Plain Old UHF / VHF, nothing special needed for HDTV!
Just get a good antenna. Digital TV receivers do tend to degrade poorly
on
weak signals (ala dropped frames, dropped sound) vs. 'old' Analog TV where
it jsut gets fuzzier and fuzzier until you can not take it any more. So,
in
that way, Digitial TV does 'require' a better antenna system.
