T&T: western Caribbean

Always had a hankering to explore the western Caribbean. Anyone have recent
experience along the s. Mexican coast, Belize, Honduras and Guatemala?
Marinas? Anchorages? Cost of living? With the current nature of the economy
here, stretching retirement dollars seems  like a prudent idea.
