T&T: Anchor chain painting

 We first used a 
> product called Ospho--found at Ace Hardware. We  pulled out all the 
> chain and soaked it in a plastic bucket with the Ospho. It 
> immediately takes all the rust off and prepares it for painting, no 
> rinsing necessary. We then used Rustoleum Cold Galvanizing Spray 
> paint on the entire chain to inhibit the reformation of rust. 

I propose that a hard layer of rust is better protection than a layer of a
consumer cold galv product like Rustoleum.

I used to use commercial / trade cold galv products in a previous life, on
electrical transmission towers. With no abrasion, the product will fail in a
few years. Add the abrasion in a chain locker...I think you did more harm than
good.
